Men and women considering working with the TBRC are invited to check out the Join the Team page. Needless to say, it is helpful if applicants live within the four state area of emphasis.
Attendance at one of the bi-monthly meetings, held in different locales and open to the public, provide an important opportunity for the curious or interested to learn more about the TBRC and for leaders of the organization to meet potential members. Our protocols require that we meet potential members before applications can be accepted.
The TBRC uses a tiered membership approach. Anyone can apply for probationary membership. Annual dues are $60. Probationary members have access to a private discussion forum where information is shared, questions can be asked, and relationships can be forged. Research opportunities may be offered to probationary members, depending on region of residence and background, training, knowledge, interests, etc. All members are encouraged to attend at least one of the bi-monthly meetings per year as well as the annual conference held in Jefferson, Texas. In addition, probationary members are required to attend at least one of the quarterly TBRC training camps, held in different locales.
Depending on level of involvement and other considerations addressed annually by the Board of Directors, probationary members may be assigned to field investigator status after a minimum of six months. Investigators have access to a different discussion board as well as the raw sighting reports database, where all sighting reports are stored, published or not. Investigators are responsible for assessing reports and conducting on-site visits, when appropriate. Following a tenure period of three years of involvement as an investigator, members qualify for voting rights regarding organizational issues brought up during the annual business meeting, including selecting the Board of Directors.
